HOME OF ROAD RAGE HO

Ever since my parents got me my 1st HO race set featuring Aurora cars i've been hooked on slot cars. Before long i started attending Drag racing night every friday at the Aurora Hobby shop in downtown Aurora Illinois. The guys were great and taught me well so it wasn't long before i started winning regularly. My collection grew from Aurora cars to Tycopro , AFX , Riggin and Cobramite cars just to name a few. Before long however i got into 1:1 size cars and the fairer sex. So what's a boy to do ? Take a small break from slots , say 30+ yrs or so ! Well all that changed with a trip to the midwest slot car show a few yrs back. While at the show i meet a real nice guy by the name of Erik Ruud. Erik is a founder of a racing group called NITRO here in Illinois and he graciously invited me to check them out. Well i had flashbacks to the 60's. No not the kind you get from a magic mushroom or bad chemistry. I had memories of a little kid at the local hobby store learning to race for the 1st time. Well i got hooked AGAIN and here i am , a little older but still just a kid at heart wanting just to learn and have some fun !
